ABOUT ENVIRO AMBIENT

We help companies that are major producers of carbon dioxide such as power generators, cement producers, and steel companies capture the CO2 they create before it's released into the atmosphere.

Enviro Ambient has developed a novel process to capture over 90% of the carbon dioxide generated from industries that need to burn fossil fuels to produce their products. Power producers, cement companies, and steel and other metal producers are some of the largest emitters of CO2.

Until the time comes when these industries can produce the products we rely on with 100% renewable energy, there is the essential requirement that the CO2 they produce be captured before entering the atmosphere. Our unique approach  captures over 90% of CO2 before it enters the stack.

A Unique Approach to Carbon Capture

Our approach captures CO2 from any fossil fuel flue gas stream; consumes low levels of power; and results in a small greenhouse gas footprint for the captured CO2.
  • Captures 90% of pure CO2 from flue gas

  • Post-combustion installation requires no modifications to boiler or hot flue gas equipment

  • Very small parasitic load of 4%

  • Uses no chemicals to capture CO2

  • Low capture costs: opex of $6-8/tonne; and capex of $8-10/tonne

How it Works

When the flue gas enters the reactor module it is introduced to an aerosol of micron-sized water droplets that the CO2 adsorbs/absorbs to as both CO2 and H2CO3. These CO2-loaded droplets fall to the base of the reactor and flow via gravity to a holding tank.

When the water coalesces CO2 automatically outgases from the bulk water in accordance with Henry’s Law – like opening a bottle of soda pop the CO2 bubbles out.  This occurs without hazardous solvents such as amines, or other expensive sorbents.

By using gravity, and with the outgassing of the CO2 occurring at ambient pressure and temperature, we use very low parasitic load, essentially only the power to the pumps to create the aerosol and to move water around through the filtration and reverse osmosis process.

Tom Thompson
President & CEO

Tom is a 15 year veteran of the greentech industy. Prior to leading Enviro Ambient, he  led Eco Power Solutions which developed and marketed a multi-pollutant emission control technology. During his nine year tenure with Eco Power, Tom drove the expansion of Eco Power from Canada to the United States, generated significant equity investment for the company, accepted the 2010 Most Promising Energy and Clean Technology Company award at the 8th Annual Rice Alliance Energy and Technology Venture Forum, and developed sales channels into the global markets that continue to benefit Enviro Ambient, its affiliates, partners and stakeholders.

Christine Frieze
Chief Financial Officer

Christine brings over 25 years of successful financial management to EAC. Prior to joining us, Ms. Frieze was the CFO of Boston-based Eco Power Solutions. As Director of Financial Operations and Accounting for Meridian Companies LLC, she provided financial advice and guidance to over ten different companies, and worked with FINRA and the SEC on a number of regulatory matters. In addition, she oversaw the fiscal management of several coal-based synthetic fuel and wind power construction projects.

Seth Baruch
President, Carbonomics

Seth Baruch is an internationally recognized expert in the development of methodologies to monitor greenhouse gas reduction. He has designed carbon offset protocols used by projects that are reducing tens of millions of tons of CO2 each year, making a substantial impact on the carbon market. His clients have ranged from technology start-ups to Fortune 500 companies and international financial institutions. As a contractor to Enviro Ambient, Seth and his firm works with us and our coalition partners to realize the potential of carbon credits not only the in the US but also in international emission-trading markets. By developing the carbon-accounting methodologies, which are third-party reviewed and verified, Enviro Ambient clients can have the assurance that any GHG-reduction claims are true and valid — an important distinction for many corporate stakeholders. In addition, of course, the potential for carbon offsets means new revenue streams.  Carbonomics helps EAC and our coalition partners navigate the complex array of other policy drivers, including the 45Q tax credit and an increasing number of state laws that encourage carbon capture and utilization.
